A sweet, tomato based condiment which is basically served with either snacks, starters or appetizers.This home-made no preservative ketchup sauce recipe would not only loved by kids, even adults would enjoy with favorite snacks.
INGREDIENTS
● 1kg tomatoes
● 1 onion
● 6-7 cloves garlic
● 1⁄2 cup sugar
● 1⁄2 tsp ginger powder
● 1tbsp black salt
● 1⁄2 tsp mixed herbs (garam masala)
● 2tbsp vinegar (siraka)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Firstly, cut the tomatoes, onion and garlic in pieces.
2. Further put them into pressure cooker and boil for 3 minutes or till 2 whistles are heard.
3. Cool down the tomatoes completely, and transfer to the blender.
4. Using a filter, extract the tomato puree separating seeds and skin of tomatoes.
5. Boil the mixture well.
6. Make sure to stir occasionally, to prevent from burning.
7. Add 1⁄2 cup sugar and mix well
8. Further add 1⁄2 tsp ginger powder, 1tbsp black salt and 1⁄2 tsp mixed herbs.
9. Keep stirring till the tomato puree thickens.
10. Add in 2 tbsp vinegar, as they act as preservative.
11. Mix well.
12. Finally, transfer the tomato sauce or tomato ketchup once cooled completely.
