Veg Momos, a steamed or fried dumpling stuffed with mixed vegetables, is a delicious snack food enjoyed in Tibet region. From the last few years, Momos are getting very popular in other parts of India and you can easily prepare them at home by either steaming or deep frying. The traditional recipe requires it to slow-cook by steaming and this recipe uses this technique to keep them healthier and authentic.

Now on how to prepare veg momos at home, here are the ingredients required and step by step instructions :-
INGREDIENTS
For Dough
● 11⁄2 cup, Maida
● 1⁄4th tsp, Salt
● 1 tsp, Oil
● 1⁄2 cup, Water
For Stuffing
● 2 tsp, Oil
● 3 clove, Garlic {finely chopped}
● 1 Onion {finely chopped}
● 1 Carrot {grated}
● 2 cup, Cabbage {gratet}
● 1⁄2 tsp, Black Pepper {powder}
● 1⁄2 tsp, Salt
● 1 tsp, Coriander Leaves {finely chopped}
INSTRUCTIONS
For Dough
1. Firstly, add 11⁄2 cup maida in a mixing bowl along with 1⁄4 tsp salt, 1 tsp oil and mix well.
2. Afterwards, add 1⁄2 cup water into the mixture, the. Knead dough for approximately 5-7
minutes ( add more water if required).
3. After kneading the dough it turns soft and smooth.
4. Now, cover and rest it for 30 minutes.
For Stuffing
1. Add 2 tsp of oil into the pan plus add 3 cloves of garlic (finely chopped) and saute well
till it changes colour.
2. Next add 1 finely chopped onion into the pan and saute well.
3. Next add 1 grated carrot along with 2 cups of grated cabbage and saute well.
4. Saute till the stuffing shrinks slightly.
5. Now add 1⁄2 tsp Black Pepper 1⁄2 tsp salt, 1 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves and saute
well.
6. Mix well and allow to cool completely. momos stuffing is ready.
Final Preparations
1. After 30 minutes, take the prepared momos dough and knead well again for a minute.
2. Further, pinch a small ball and flatten.
3. Now dust with some maida and start to roll using a rolling pin.
4. Roll into an almost medium thin circle. around 4 – 5 inch in diameter. make sure you roll
from sides and keep the centre slightly thick.
5. Using a small cup, cut into a circle and brush water to sides.
6. Now place a heaped tbsp of prepared stuffing in the centre.
7. Start pleating the edges slowly and gather everything.
8. Press in the middle and seal the momos forming a bundle.
9. Heat a steamer and arrange the momos in the tray without touching each other.
10. Furthermore, steam momos for 10-12 minutes or till shiny sheen appears over it.
11. Finally, serve the veg momos.
