The bread dhokla is a quick-fix dhokla. That is easy, convenient and tasty. Made with a batter of bread crumbs and rava perked up with the usual flavours like green chillies and ginger. The Gujrati Bread Dhokla tastes so good and so much like authentic dhokla that nobody can guess that it is made of bread unless you tell them.

Now on how to make Bread Dhokla, here are the ingredients required and step by step instructions :-

 

INGREDIENTS

For Batter

● 5 Bread, {white/ brown}

● 1⁄2 cup, Suji / Rava

● 3⁄4 cup, Curd / Yogurt

● 2 tsp, Oil

● Salt, to taste

● 1⁄4 tsp, Turmeric {Haldi}

● 1⁄2 cup, Water {or as required}

● 1 tbsp, Eno / Fruit Salt


For Tempering

● 2 tsp, Oil

● 1⁄2 tsp, Mustard / Rai

● 1⁄2 tsp, Cumin {Jeera}

● pinch of hing {asafoetida}

● 4-5 Green Chilli, Slit

● 1⁄2 tsp, Salt

● 1⁄4 cup, Water

● 2 tbsp, Sugar


INSTRUCTIONS

For Batter

1. Firstly, take 4-5 bread slices and cut the corners and blend to form bread crumbs.

2. Next, take a large mixing bowl and add bread crumbs, 1⁄2 cup suji, 3⁄4 cup curd, 2 tsp oil,

1⁄4 tsp turmeric and salt to taste.

3. Mix well

4. Next, add 1⁄2 cup water and combine ( can add more water if required ).

5. Allow to rest for 15-30 minutes.

6. Additionally add 1 tbsp eno or fruit salt.

7. Transfer into a greased mould and steam for 15 minutes.


For Tempering

1. Star with heating 2 tsp of oil.

2. Next add 1⁄2 tsp of black mustard/ rai, 1⁄2 tsp of cumin seeds, 4-5 green chilli slit in half, 1⁄2

tsp salt and saute well.

3. And add 1⁄4 cup water along with 2 tbsp sugar and mix well.

Finally, pour the tempering over dhokla and cut and serve instant bread dhokla with chutney.
