INGREDIENTS
● 1 CUP, vermicelli (semiya)
● 1⁄4th CUP, peanuts
● 1 ONION, finely chopped
● Vegetables, finely chopped
● 1tbsp salt
● 1⁄2tbsp chilli powder
● 1⁄2tbsp turmeric
● 1⁄2 sliced, lemon
● 3 tbsp oil
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Add 4 cups of water in a large saucepan. Turn on the gas stove.
2. Once water starts boiling, add vermicelli. Stir and cook for 10 minutes or until softened.
3. Transfer to a metal colander. Drain all the water. Rinse vermicelli nicely with cold or
running water.
4. Now, add 3tbsp oil in a pan.
5. Add 1⁄4th cup of peanuts to the pan and let it fry for 1 minute.
6. Next add 1 finely chopped onion and fry till it turns golden in colour.
7. Add mix vegetables.
8. Now, add 1tbsp salt, 1⁄2tbsp red chilli powder, 1⁄2tbsp turmeric powder.
9. Mix well.
10. Afterwards, add the boiled vermicelli into the pan and mix gently till all ingredients mix
fully.
11. Drizzle 1⁄2 sliced lemon juice into the pan (flame off) and mix nicely.
12. Finally, vermicelli upma is ready to serve.
